The closest Laneige dupe is BYOMA Hydrating Milky Toner for Cream Skin: both are milky toners made with meadowfoam seed oil and ceramide NP, and BYOMA’s costs about half as much. Next is e.l.f. Squeeze Me Lip Balm for Lip Glowy Balm, two sheer tinted balms in squeeze tubes with shea butter. Third, The INKEY List Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm stands in for Glaze Craze, a tinted lip treatment with peptides. For the Water Sleeping Mask, the dupe is e.l.f. Holy Hydration! Sleeping Mask, and for the Lip Sleeping Mask it’s Neutrogena Hydro Boost Lip Sleeping Mask. A dupe gets you the product type, some of the key ingredients and the job. It doesn’t get you Laneige’s exact formula, its gel textures or its flavors, and two of the seven matches below are loose ones.

The seven at a glance

Splurge Price Dupe Price How the dupe compares
Laneige Cream Skin Milky Toner About $30 BYOMA Hydrating Milky Toner About $15 Shared oil and ceramide
Laneige Lip Glowy Balm About $19 e.l.f. Squeeze Me Lip Balm About $5 Same type, shea butter
Laneige Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum About $22 The INKEY List Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm (Pink) About $14 Peptides too, fragrance-free
Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Serum About $45 The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 About $10 Same hydrator, no squalane
Laneige Water Sleeping Mask About $33 e.l.f. Holy Hydration! Sleeping Mask About $11 Close, cream instead of gel
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask About $24 Neutrogena Hydro Boost Lip Sleeping Mask About $9 Same type, plainer formula
Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream About $38 COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream About $20 Loose: no ceramide or squalane

Prices are approximate, and they change often.

1. Laneige Cream Skin dupe: BYOMA Hydrating Milky Toner

Cream Skin Milky Toner is Laneige’s cream and toner in one bottle. The formula explains the name: meadowfoam seed oil and squalane sit near the top, followed by ceramide NP, a peptide, hyaluronic acid and tea leaf extract. There’s no fragrance in it.

BYOMA Hydrating Milky Toner is built the same way, a milky toner with meadowfoam seed oil and ceramide NP, plus sodium hyaluronate, panthenol and polyglutamic acid. It’s fragrance-free and alcohol-free, and the bottle is a little smaller, 150 ml to Laneige’s 170, for about half the price. What’s missing is the squalane, the peptide and the tea extract. If you use Cream Skin in place of a moisturizer, that squalane may be the part you’d miss. Our guide to toner versus essence versus serum covers where a milky toner goes in a routine.

2. Laneige Lip Glowy Balm dupe: e.l.f. Squeeze Me Lip Balm

Laneige calls Lip Glowy Balm the daytime alternative to its Lip Sleeping Mask: a sheer tinted, glossy balm in a pocket-sized squeeze tube, made with shea and murumuru seed butters. The Berry version also has a goji fruit extract and added fragrance.

e.l.f. Squeeze Me Lip Balm is the same kind of product at about a quarter of the price. It’s a lightweight balm in a squeeze tube that leaves a sheer tint, and e.l.f. names shea butter, hyaluronic acid and goji berry as its key ingredients. Both come in a run of fruit and dessert flavors. Murumuru butter isn’t among the ingredients e.l.f. highlights, so don’t count on the same richness. The link here goes to Strawberry.

3. Laneige Glaze Craze dupe: The INKEY List Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm

Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum is a tinted, high-shine lip treatment with a donut-shaped applicator. Its formula has a soybean polypeptide, ceramide NP, polyglutamic acid, squalane and sodium hyaluronate, with donut-inspired flavors and added fragrance. Laneige says the color is buildable.

The INKEY List Tripeptide Plumping Lip Balm in Pink is a tinted peptide lip treatment too, for about a third less. It has two peptides, palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and palmitoyl tripeptide-38, along with squalane, sodium hyaluronate and shea butter, and INKEY describes it as fragrance-free with a sheer pink tint. So the color is quieter, there’s no flavor, and there’s no ceramide or polyglutamic acid. INKEY’s tube holds 10 ml to Glaze Craze’s 12 grams. Pick Laneige for color and shine, INKEY for a plainer formula.

4. Laneige Water Bank serum dupe: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Serum is a hydrating serum built on hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, a small-molecule form Laneige calls Blue Hyaluronic Acid. Squalane is fifth on the ingredient list, and there’s beta-glucan, a peptide and added fragrance.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 goes heavier on the headline ingredient. The Ordinary says it uses five forms of hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid among them, with panthenol and ceramides. It’s oil-free and silicone-free, and no fragrance appears in its ingredients. That also means no squalane, so it’s a thinner, water-based step. The bottle is smaller, 30 ml to Laneige’s 50, and still comes to well under half the price per ounce. Dry skin should plan on a moisturizer over it either way.

5. Laneige Water Sleeping Mask dupe: e.l.f. Holy Hydration! Sleeping Mask

Water Sleeping Mask is a lightweight overnight gel. It has three types of hyaluronic acid, squalane, niacinamide and ceramide NP, plus a lavender and chamomile scent. It goes on after face cream as the last step at night and rinses off in the morning.

e.l.f. Holy Hydration! Sleeping Mask costs a third as much for slightly more product, 80 ml to Laneige’s 70. The overlap is hyaluronic acid and ceramides: e.l.f. has three ceramides to Laneige’s one, and adds two peptides. Texture is where they part. e.l.f. describes its mask as rich and creamy, with shea butter fifth on the list, and it has no niacinamide or squalane. Both contain fragrance. e.l.f. suggests using it two or three times a week, overnight or as a rinse-off mask. If the weightless gel is what you love about Laneige, keep it.

6. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask dupe: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Lip Sleeping Mask

Lip Sleeping Mask is the jar that made the category: a thick leave-on mask you apply generously before bed. The Berry version has shea butter, murumuru seed butter, coconut oil, vitamin C and three fruit juices, along with fragrance and colorants.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Lip Sleeping Mask is the same type of product with a plainer formula. It starts with petrolatum, shares three of Laneige’s base ingredients (polybutene, diisostearyl malate and microcrystalline wax) and adds hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid. It’s clear, with no fragrance, butters or fruit juices among its ingredients, and the directions match: a generous layer before bed. It’s half the size, 0.35 ounces to Laneige’s 0.7, so the saving per ounce is closer to a quarter than the table suggests. Our Lip Sleeping Mask review names e.l.f. Squeeze Me as its budget swap, on the grounds that sealing lips overnight does much of the work. That one’s a daytime balm, so it’s matched to Glowy Balm above.

7. Laneige Water Bank cream dupe: COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream

Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream is Laneige’s everyday cream moisturizer. Squalane is fourth on the list, with hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, ceramide NP, panthenol, a peptide and fragrance further down. Laneige describes it as hypoallergenic and dermatologist-tested.

COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream is the loosest match here. It’s a hyaluronic acid cream as well, with sodium hyaluronate, panthenol, glycerin and allantoin in common, but the base is different: sea buckthorn water, then sunflower and macadamia oils. There’s no ceramide, squalane or peptide, and no fragrance among its ingredients. What it offers is quantity. The jar is 100 grams, about twice Laneige’s 50 ml, for about half the price. Our moisturizers for dehydrated skin roundup has more options.

How we picked

We started with Laneige’s best-known products, then matched each to one cheaper product of the same type. A match had to share main ingredients, not just a category, and cost clearly less. No brand supplies more than two dupes. Pairs are ranked by how much of the formula they share, closest first.

Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask isn’t here because no cheaper overnight mask met all of those conditions.

When the expensive one is still worth it

When texture is the reason you bought it. The Water Sleeping Mask is a gel and its dupe is a cream. Cream Skin carries squalane that BYOMA’s toner doesn’t. Those are differences you’d feel every night.

Size matters too. The Lip Sleeping Mask jar holds twice what the Neutrogena does, and a jar used a dab at a time lasts. If you like the flavors and the bedtime ritual, the per-ounce gap is small enough that staying put is reasonable.

If I Were You

  • If you only swap one thing, I’d swap Cream Skin for BYOMA. It’s the closest match on this page and it halves the cost of a bottle you go through quickly.
  • If your lips or skin react to fragrance, I’d look at BYOMA, The Ordinary, INKEY, Neutrogena and COSRX, none of which has added fragrance in its ingredients. Both e.l.f. picks are scented or flavored. For stinging or a rash that doesn’t settle, see a dermatologist.
  • If you mostly want softer lips by morning, I’d buy the Neutrogena mask and skip the flavors.
  • If you want a balm for your bag, I’d get Squeeze Me and keep the Lip Sleeping Mask at home, if you keep it at all.
  • If your skin is dry and you rely on Water Bank cream, I’d keep it. The COSRX cream is a fine moisturizer, but it isn’t the same formula with a smaller price.

FAQ

Is there an exact dupe for the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask?

No. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Lip Sleeping Mask is the same type of product and shares part of the base, but it has no butters, flavor or fragrance. Our review covers who should buy the original.

What’s the best dupe for Laneige Cream Skin?

BYOMA Hydrating Milky Toner. Both are milky toners with meadowfoam seed oil and ceramide NP, and both are fragrance-free. Cream Skin adds squalane and a peptide.

Is Laneige Lip Glowy Balm the same as the Lip Sleeping Mask?

No. Glowy Balm is a sheer tinted balm in a tube for daytime, and the Lip Sleeping Mask is a thicker jar product meant for overnight. Both versions linked here contain shea and murumuru seed butters.

Are Laneige dupes OK for sensitive skin?

It depends on the product more than the price. Several of the dupes here are fragrance-free where the Laneige original isn’t, which some sensitive skin prefers. Patch test anything new, and if you have eczema or rosacea, ask a dermatologist first. Our skin care archive and K-beauty guide have more on building a gentle routine.

Bottom line

Laneige is a hydration brand, and hydration is the easy thing to find for less: hyaluronic acid, a ceramide, a butter or an oil. Dupe the toner, the lip balm and the serum without much thought. Think harder about the two sleeping masks, where the texture or the flavor is half the appeal, and keep the Water Bank cream if your skin already likes it.

How we pick

We read the ingredient list the way you would read a contract: closely, skeptically, and all the way to the fine print. Nobody pays for placement, and a product only makes a list if we would spend our own money on it again.
